On the other hand, winter (June to August) offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding opportunities if you&rsquo;re planning a snow holiday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Aoraki Mount Cook is accessible by car, bus, or plane. The nearest airport is in Queenstown, approximately a 4-hour drive away. From here, you can either <strong><u><a href="https://www.backpackerdeals.com/car-rental" target="_blank">rent a car</a></u></strong> or <strong><u><a href="https://www.backpackerdeals.com/campervan-hire" target="_blank">hire a campervan</a></u></strong> and drive to Aoraki Mount Cook. Alternatively, you can save yourself a drive and hop on a guided tour or scenic flight from Queenstown that offers return transport.&nbsp;</p>

<p>To properly experience everything this unique destination has to offer, we&rsquo;d suggest spending at least 2-3 days here.
